Cuenca

Well I have finally arrived in Cuenca. I flew to Quito last night. It was so exciting drving to where we were staying. For some reason i couldnt stop smiling. I don't have any homesick feelings or culture shock at all. I stayed the night there and then we took a 10 hour bus ride to our house here. It was so bumpy and the drivers here are freakin crazy. I saw the poorest of the poor and so many mountain women and men. I have seen pictures of poor countries and movies but seeing it is so wierd. You haven't seen anything until you actually see it. Even though they are poor they seemed really content with life. You would see them just chilling on the side of the road lovin life. I already love the girls Im with. We have actually clicked very well. The house I live in is way nice. It has like four stories and a balcony that looks over the entire city.

this isnt the city im staying at. its a little city we stopped at.

There are 15 girls total in the house and one boy. I have orientation tomorrow morning and then i start my first shift in the afternoon

Hey Jayme,
I am so jealous on this adventure you are going on. Write a lot on your blog, because blogspot will bind your pages in a book and it will be an awesome journal. Plus we can share in your experiences. I talked to mom and it already looks like Heavenly Father is watching out for you! It is only the beginning. Love you and I pray for your safety.
